Installing Parbat
Parbat is a Shopify app that runs inside your Shopify admin. During the beta it isn’t listed in the Shopify App Store search, so install it from the link we sent you. If you don’t have one, email us.
1. Install the app
Section titled “1. Install the app”Open the install link while signed in to your Shopify admin and choose Install. Shopify shows the permissions Parbat asks for; here’s what each one is for.
2. Welcome to Parbat
Section titled “2. Welcome to Parbat”Setup has two steps. The first asks what Z, the assistant in the app, should call you. It’s optional and prefilled from your Shopify account.
3. Safety guardrails
Section titled “3. Safety guardrails”The second step sets the bounds every recommendation must respect:
- Margin floor (GM%): the lowest gross margin, after cost and variable fees, that any recommended price may leave you with. If you leave it blank, it starts at 25%.
- MAP enforced?: turn this on if you have minimum advertised price agreements. Parbat then respects the MAP wherever one is set.
- Brand positioning (optional): choosing one fills in a typical margin floor for that kind of brand.
You can change all of these later. See Guardrails.
4. Catalog sync
Section titled “4. Catalog sync”When you finish, Parbat starts syncing your catalog. Choose Continue to app to open Z. Your first Daily Briefing arrives the next morning, once your products and sales history are indexed.
If you see Store setup incomplete, the sync didn’t finish. See Troubleshooting.

- Data Parbat needs, especially cost per item
