Guardrails
Guardrails decide when Parbat holds, tests or blocks a pricing move. Every move is checked against them before it can ship.
Where to change them
Section titled “Where to change them”Open Pricing Basecamp, find the Guardrails card, and choose Edit policy. Changes save automatically.
You can also ask Z in chat, for example “Raise my margin floor to 30%.”
What you can set
Section titled “What you can set”- Margin floor: the lowest gross margin, after cost per item and variable fees, a recommended price may leave you with. It starts at 25% unless you set it during setup.
- Enforce MAP: when this is on, Parbat respects your minimum advertised price wherever one is set. To set a MAP for a product, ask Z to recommend a price for it and fill in Minimum Advertised Price (MAP), then choose Set MAP.
- Excluded from pricing: search for a product or variant and choose Exclude from pricing. Parbat won’t recommend price changes for it.
Checks that always apply
Section titled “Checks that always apply”These protect every store and aren’t edited on the Guardrails card:
| Check | What it does |
|---|---|
| Min above cost | A recommended price stays at least 10% above cost per item. |
| Cooldown | At least 7 days between price changes on the same variant. |
| Largest single price move | A move larger than 20% needs a deliberate “Ship anyway”. |
A move can also be blocked if the product is missing a cost, its cost is out of date or above its price, its inventory isn’t tracked, it isn’t active, or it’s excluded. The Checks section of the move’s Evidence Pack says which check blocked it and what unlocks it.
Price endings
Section titled “Price endings”How recommended prices end (for example .00, .95 or .99) is set separately, in Settings, Pricing, Pricing Policy: choose a Price ending mode and a Rounding bias, check the Preview, and save.
