FAQ
Will my customers notice?
Section titled “Will my customers notice?”They may notice a price change, but Parbat is not surge pricing or per-customer pricing. Every shopper sees the same price. We recommend a handful of deliberate catalog changes within your guardrails, and nothing goes live until you ship it.
Do you change prices automatically?
Section titled “Do you change prices automatically?”No. Parbat recommends; only you ship. Autoship, which would ship eligible moves for you, stays off for the whole beta. See Only you ship.
What if a price change goes badly?
Section titled “What if a price change goes badly?”We compare the result with what we projected and show you where we were wrong, and you can roll a shipped move back in one click. The point isn’t to pretend every forecast is perfect; it’s to make smaller, measured decisions and learn from the outcome.
How accurate are the projections?
Section titled “How accurate are the projections?”That’s what the beta is for. We’ll share the accuracy number as it develops, including if it’s worse than we hoped. Each move also shows how confident we are in its projection.
What data do you need?
Section titled “What data do you need?”Traffic, conversion, sales velocity, inventory, cost per item, and price history, most of which Parbat reads from Shopify. We also need your pricing guardrails, including any MAP agreements or retail-partner rules. We’ll tell you if the available data isn’t enough. See Data Parbat needs.
Do you touch subscription products?
Section titled “Do you touch subscription products?”Not in this beta. Subscription pricing affects existing customers as well as new ones, so we work on one-time-purchase products only for now.
What about Google Shopping and Meta feeds?
Section titled “What about Google Shopping and Meta feeds?”Your displayed, landing-page and checkout prices change together, and your feeds pick up the change like any other Shopify price change. Matching prices everywhere is a hard requirement, not an afterthought.
Do I need to replace my analytics tools?
Section titled “Do I need to replace my analytics tools?”No. Keep the tools that show what happened. Parbat uses your data to help decide what to do next, then measures the result against the projection.
We already run price tests. Does this replace them?
Section titled “We already run price tests. Does this replace them?”No. Price-testing tools need real customers and several weeks per test, which limits how much of a catalog they can cover. Parbat is built for the rest of it, and it narrows the field before any shopper sees a new price.
What happens to my data?
Section titled “What happens to my data?”We use it to analyze your catalog and measure the changes you ship. See Data, privacy and permissions.
Is Parbat a fit for my store?
Section titled “Is Parbat a fit for my store?”The beta is designed for Shopify brands doing roughly $1M–$20M a year, with 15 or more products that each take 20 or more orders a month, and 40% or higher gross margin on the products we’d work on. A good fit also sells mostly through its own Shopify storefront, has cost per item filled in for most of the catalog (or can add it in the first week), and can make pricing decisions without a three-month process.
If your store isn’t a fit, we’ll say so plainly.
